It brings me great sadness to report the passing of Derek Read of The Newchurch Club X team. Derek passed away on Sunday morning after a short illness.

Derek played in the league for around 20 years with his son Darren, representing The Fleur De Lis, The Bell Inn and in more recent seasons the Newchurch social club.
Derek played nearly 1400 frames in the league, spanning 35 seasons and nearly 500 matches making him a long standing member of our league.

Having played in the same team and against Derek, my long standing memory of him will undoubtably be the cheer of 50p when one of his team-mates potted the cue ball.

On behalf of the league, my condolences and thoughts to Derek's family and his Newchurch team.

Hi Everyone,

The Fixtures for Season 75 are now live on the website, with the first fixtures kicking off on Monday 14th August.

This season the league will run a Team Knockout alongside the League fixtures, further information will be shared in due course.

I will also aim to get the usual fixtures grid on the site before the season starts.

Please remember to print out the result sheets (now online under the Files menu), the winning team is to submit the result sheet in the Captain's WhatsApp groups (all captains should be added to the relevant group for the coming season - if you are a captain and are not in the group please message me privately and I will sort).

Just to clear up the rumour's about a break away league being formed.
Discussions did take place, but went no further than that.

No new league is being formed.

Registration, Presentation & AGM will be held at the Bailiffs Sergeant on the 7th August.
Registration from 7pm and the fee will be £45 per team.

All Committee positions will become available, although most are happy to continue in their roles.

Congratulations to this season's KO winners.

Premier Division
Terry Pepper (Dukes Head) who beat Dave Dean (Bailiff RMA) 7-3 in the final.

Divsion 1
Michael Laker (Royal Oak B) who beat Robert Thomas (Camber Castle B) 7-6 in the final.

Thank you to those who went to support each final, I'm sure each player appreciated it.
